For the second book for month of July, we selected Book Lovers by Emily Henry and it did not disappoint. We picked it to shake things up a bit and to kind of counteract the main/spookier choice, Slewfoot by Brom (full review here).

Book Lovers was my first Emily Henry book and now, I want to read more of her things. It is a story about a single, hardworking literary agent, Nora who gets swindled into a month long, small town vacation by her happily married, mother of 2 (soon to be 3), younger sister, Libby.

Pretty early on, the book gave me Gilmore Girls + The Holiday vibes- two things I already love. When they arrive, Libby tells Nora that she has made a list of small town things for them to do while they're in town. Nora goes along with it (mostly for her sister's sake) and as the story unfolds, we get to go along on a lot of adventures, highs, lows and twists.

I think you should read this book if you like sisterhood, enemies to lovers, romance that isn't overly cheesy or smutty (there is some smut but it is peppered in tastefully) and just an easy, witty, sweet read that makes you feel stuff.

If you'd like to join us for our next read, please do! You are absolutely invited and we would love to have you.
